Wednesday Evening Group Work

Held  Every Wednesday Evening in our large group space in Bow, 6:30 to 8:30 beginning January 18, 2012

We offer a weekly on going group to support and challenge all of us to be the best self we can be. The weekly format offers continuity of  support and the challenge to be creatively responsible for your life and your interactions with others.  As a group we address the issues that are holding us back and learn behavioral skills to access more of the life that is inside of us.

Cost is $160 per the month, payable at the beginning of the month. If you have financial challenges in these challenging times, please let us know and we can work with you as well as we are able to. Register now for Fall. If we do not already know you arrande for a session with us, as gorup work may or not be right for you at this time. A 12 week, or 3 month commitment, through December, is required, as this is the time it takes to recognize the growing benefits of group work in your daily  life. Consistent attendance is necessary to experience the full benefits of group work. You are financially responsible for missed sessions, that’s why there is a monthly fee.  Showing up for yourself and others is an important aspect of living fully.

Psychodrama was designed as a method of group psychotherapy. J.L. Moreno had great trust in the group. When he asked, “Who shall survive?” I think he felt the survivors will be those who both use and cherish their own creativity and spontaneity and that these people will survive in a group. He used to say, “If God ever comes back, He’ll come back as a group”.

A group can helps us to experience many things:
We are not alone.
We can feel normalized.
We go back to the constellation into which we were born – the family group.
The group can share the weight of emotional truth.
The very form of this sharing, each person differently, may be liberating.

Groups are for:
♥  People who want to become more conscious in their daily interactions.
♥ People who want a weekly touch stone to help them connect with their deeper selves and the inner lives of others.
♥ People who seek healthy experiences and skill building for their relationships.
♥ Those who feel somehow “stuck” in their lives
♥ People looking for feedback about how they present themselves to others
♥ Individuals wanting to explore how family of origin issues impact currrent relationships
♥ Reducing the after effects of past traumas and learning to live in the present moment.

Group work focuses attention on our relational life by:

  • Enhancing and developing our sense of zest or well being through meaningful connections with others.
  • Practicing taking action in our relationships as well as in other situations.
  • Gaining an increased knowledge of ourselves and the other person.
  • Increasing our sense of worth.
  • Enjoying and challenging our interconnections.
  • Expectations for  group members :
♥ Show up for yourself and whatever level of comfort you are at, then be willing to stretch a little. ♥ Show up for others (your presence and feedback is important).
♥ Be honest and respecful of yourself and others. ♥ Take risks (Playing it safe does not help you). ♥ Honor everyone’s right to Confidentiality.
♥ help create a safe experience for yourself and others.
