Rehearsals for Living is an experiential group process that happens in the here and now. Here we get to explore creating more of the life we are seeking. We are not broken, but we do need spaces to explore our blocks to living more fully. This group work is intended to bring you face to face with yourself and others in the relational moment, where growth, change and transformation has a chance of happening. The work grows organically from the needs, wants, challenges, connections and disconnections within the group. The underlying psychodramatic structure is both solid, fluid and complex. Rehearsals for Living groups grow from the underlying foundational theory, philosophy and methods of J.L. Moreno’s Psychodrama, Group Psychotherapy and Sociometry.

Reverse Roles; Practice getting out of your own shoes (or ego)and into someone else's: gain fresh perspectives.
I’ve been attending groups at Rehearsals for Living for many years. The groups give me a space to explore, practice, and more deeply understand events that happen in my life. Through this ongoing support I’m able to live with greater intention, compassion, presence, and joy. They can also be a lot of fun!

My deepest gratitude for a spectacular day! From the moment I walked in, to the end of the day, your welcoming spirit of genuine care , attentiveness, focus and expertise were immeasurable.

I knew I needed to process the turmoil of a relationship I had just let go. Much to my surprise I went deeper than I had ever imagined in terms of emotions, repressed and current ones. I have since found a better sense of myself and how to say no peacefully. I highly recommend their workshops in a safe and compassionate environment.

You two stay so real with us, the group, that the work feels safer and more real. It was miraculous to witness and participate in such healing. I really didn’t realize it would be so effective. I can notice the difference, I am sure that I am lighter. Today, I feel clarity that I am not my habitual patterns.

It is ironic, but true, that a traumatic event in your life can be the beginning of a journey of discovery. You begin to nurture a greater awareness of your own presence, and that of others, in a deeply spiritual sense. The Shapiros are excellent guides and guardians on the way.

At times intense, always safe, touching and memorable, the group opportunities offered by Mariann and Bob have given me insight and perspective I would never have experienced without taking that first leap. Every curve and turn in the journey has actually been a line to exactly what has been needed. I will remain forever, immeasurably grateful for Marianne, Bob and fellow group participants for holding my hand and walking with me just where the path needs to go.

Bob and Mariann have provided a vehicle for helping me to release pain and shame that I have carried around for over half of my life. I never thought I could bring these issues to light in a group situation, but for me, the group’s energy, participation and acceptance was integral to my ability to find a way to work through this difficulty. If you have baggage you are ready to set down, this is the place that can help you do that. We share our true selves and we are accepted with empathy and humor. Plus, we share amazing food and we have fun! Thank you for giving me this gift of a light heart!
